Single Drama's tend to be used as a somewhat one off on television as is quite rare to come by in this day and age. Single dramas are generally based upon a topical issue and or subject which is more suitable for television over cinema.
An example of a single drama would potentially be Murdered by my Boyfriend. This is based on a true event in which a young girl falls in love with a guy but then her boyfriend eventually begins to start abusing her and controlling her. This is a dark single drama which shows devastating and traumatic experiences in which someone could be experiencing at this very moment in time and generally is capturing what really happened through the single drama.
